Chapter XII

Chapter XII.—Doctrine of the True Prophet.

“Hence, O beloved Clement, if you would know the things pertaining to God, you have to learn them from Him alone, because He alone knows the truth.  For if any one else knows anyp. 231 thing, he has received it from Him or from His disciples.  And this is His doctrine and true proclamation, that there is one God, whose work the world is; who being altogether righteous, shall certainly at some time render to every one according to his deeds.
